Early Intervention Services

Infants and toddlers up to age 3 are eligible for services under Part C of IDEA. Each family should receive an Individualized Family Service Plan(IFSP) within forty-five days of the initial determination of eligibility for services. You should be assigned a service coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating all the services your child is deemed eligible for. If you suspect your child has a developmental delay, this includes speech and language delay, you may ask that your child be evaluated. This can be done by contacting your doctor, hospital, local health department, or your governor's office to obtain the necessary referrals and contacts.
Writing IFSP's  Individualized Family Service Plan.   These are to be individual to each families needs and goals for their child.   Specifics to Whatcom County residents can be found here.
