Sample IEP's
First some information to help you understand and write good Individual Education Plan's(IEP's).  Keep in mind that all IEP's developed after July 1, 1998 must be in compliance with IDEA '97.  Hopefully, your child's most recent IEP reflects these changes.  If you feel it is not in line with the new IDEA then inform your school that you are requesting a new IEP be developed for your child.  (do this in writing, preferably certified mail.)  Go Straight to Examples

Individuals with Disabilities Education Act  I can't stress enough the importance of reading and knowing this document.  Sec. 614 and Sec. 615 of the Act deal specifically with evaluations, eligibility determination, IEP,and placement.  There are specific references to children with hearing impairments in considering their communication mode, opportunity for direct communication with peers and professional personnel, academic level, and full range of needs.
